This attractively-produced large format 40-page booklet provides a complete set of lesson plans for coaches delivering Mini Tennis. Author Simon Wheatley and illustrators Richard and James Deverell are to be commended for the accessible way the information is presented. Learning themes are supported by drills and games, all of which are well explained with helpful illustrations. A typical theme “Forehand balance & positioning on the return of serve” is supported by exercises including “Rats and Rabbits” in which the children divide into two groups to chase and tag each other. This is exactly the quality of publication that is needed to support the development of tennis in this country.
